Two Grenada ambassadors to China relay to support China’s Silk Road Aurora: Cross term friendship between China and Pakistan in scarves
When the orange paper bag with the “Aurora” logo was handed over to the newly appointed Ambassador of Grenada to China, Ma Yan, in the warm light of the dinner party, this scarf carrying the aesthetic of Eastern silk became a vivid witness of a “cross term friendship” – just five days after he submitted the copy of his credentials, he took over the “baton” from former Ambassador Antoine and brought recognition from Grenada to the national silk Aurora.
The successive stands of the two ambassadors from Antoine to Mayans have made Aurora, the national silk, a special cultural bond in the friendship between China and Grenada. As a friendly partner of China in the Caribbean region, Grenada’s exchanges with China have long transcended the diplomatic framework: when Grenada’s tropical charm meets the delicate and gentle Chinese silk, the warmth of a silk scarf, it is a microcosm of the friendship between the two countries taking root – it not only hides the memories of exchanges during the previous ambassador’s tenure, but also opens up a new chapter of cultural interaction after the new ambassador takes office.
The Aurora Silk Road uses scarves as a carrier to weave intangible cultural heritage techniques into contemporary design, and the relay support of the two ambassadors has made this Eastern aesthetic the “Ivy” of China Pakistan friendship: whether it is formal interactions on the diplomatic stage or light connections in daily life scenes, this scarf continues the friendship between the two countries across mountains and seas in a soft way.
