When the office of the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to China saw the figure of the silk scarf brand “ITARORA” (Aurora) from Hangzhou, a cultural and economic link spanning Asia and Europe was quietly woven with lightweight silk as a carrier. Recently, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to China officially endorsed the Aurora brand. This simple yet meaningful interaction is not only a recognition of the Chinese luxury silk scarf brand, but also a vivid footnote to the people to people exchanges and industrial cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan.

Silk scarves as a medium: Aurora knocks on the door of cultural exchange between China and Kyrgyzstan

As a core brand under Hangzhou Aurora Industrial Co., Ltd., ITARORA integrates Chinese silk craftsmanship with modern design aesthetics through the carrier of “light luxury scarves”. Its products have been launched in airports, high-speed trains, and Milan luxury collection stores across the country, and are one of the representatives of Chinese local light luxury brands going global. The Kyrgyz ambassador to China stood on the platform this time precisely because he saw the cultural expression behind the brand – silk, as an iconic commodity of the ancient Silk Road, is now reconnecting the cultural memories of China and Central Asian countries in the form of “ITARORA scarves”.

At the interactive event, the Aurora team showcased to the ambassador a customized silk scarf that combines Central Asian elements with Jiangnan silk craftsmanship. The delicate patterns conceal both the warmth of Hangzhou and the color aesthetics of traditional Kyrgyz fabrics. After tasting, the ambassador said, “Silk is an ancient symbol that connects us. Nowadays, such a brand has given new vitality to tradition, and we look forward to it becoming a ‘soft link’ for communication between China and Kyrgyzstan

From ‘Platform’ to ‘Hand in Hand’: Imagining Economic and Trade Cooperation Behind Brands
This platform is no accident – Aurora is accelerating the layout of markets along the “the Belt and Road” in recent years. As an important country in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan is not only the core node of the Silk Road Economic Belt, but also has the potential to consume high-quality textile products. The ambassador’s public thumbs up not only provides a trust endorsement for ITARORA to enter the Kyrgyz market, but also implies the cooperation space between the two countries in the fields of light industry brands and cultural creativity.

The relevant person in charge of Aurora revealed that they may collaborate with local designers in Kyrgyzstan to launch a silk scarf series that integrates cultural elements from both countries. At the same time, they will explore setting up brand display points in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek to empower Chinese silk craftsmanship and Central Asian culture in their products. And this kind of “small yet beautiful” brand cooperation also provides a new sample of “folk first” for China Kyrgyzstan economic and trade exchanges.

The ‘big connection’ in a lightweight scarf

A scarf weighs only a few tens of grams, yet it can carry the profound meaning of cultural exchange. The Kyrgyz ambassador to China’s act of acting as the Aurora platform is not only a recognition of China’s brand innovation, but also a positive response to non-governmental cooperation under the “the Belt and Road” initiative. When elements of West Lake water waves and Kyrgyz grasslands appear simultaneously in ITARORA’s silk patterns, we see not only the internationalization of a brand, but also a warm scene of different civilizations approaching each other in a flexible way.

Perhaps in the future, in the storefronts of shopping malls in Bishkek and silk exhibitions in Hangzhou, this scarf will become a small footnote to the friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan – light yet long enough.
